Nuwara Eliya
Tea Country
2-day private escape to Sri Lanka's misty highlands — rolling tea estates, Victorian colonial heritage, waterfall walks, and the art of Ceylon's finest brews.
Overview
Where Tea Meets Mist and Mountains Meet Sky
Nuwara Eliya sits 1,868 metres above sea level in the heart of Sri Lanka's hill country, draped in mist and ringed by emerald tea plantations that stretch to every horizon. Known as 'Little England' for its Victorian-era buildings, rose gardens, and cool climate (temperatures drop to 10°C at night), Nuwara Eliya feels like a world unto itself. Your private journey includes a comprehensive tea factory tour where you'll trace Ceylon tea from leaf to cup — witnessing withering, rolling, fermenting, and firing.
Walk through manicured tea estates with Tamil tea pickers, hike to Lover's Leap waterfall, and enjoy sunset over Gregory Lake. A short, perfectly paced escape that shows an entirely different face of Sri Lanka.
“Sipping a fresh-brewed estate single-origin tea on the veranda, watching mist roll across the valley — nothing could make me leave.”

“The tea factory was mesmerizing — I never knew how complex the process was. And our guide arranged for us to walk with the pickers at sunrise, the mist still on the bushes, the valley below invisible under cloud. I’ve never felt so far from the modern world. The bungalow was extraordinary — a 1920s planter’s estate with a real fireplace. Already planning to return.”
“A perfect short escape. Gregory Lake at sunset, the botanical gardens, the waterfall hike — it’s all so easily achievable in two days. Don’t skip the tasting session — learning to identify each estate’s character made us see tea completely differently.”
